This second Visual Edge exhibit spotlights the pinhole
photograph and the beginnings of photography. The exhibit features the
works of invitational photographers Eric Renner, Nancy Spencer, Martha Casanave, and
Linda Pearson.

Additionally, an open, juried segment was held to find unique and creative
examples of pinhole photography from around the world. Of the 136 submitted
entries, 54 images were selected for this portion of the exhibit. The images were sent in by artists from all over the U.S. as well as England, Scotland, Canada, New Zealand and France.

The reception for this exhibit is July 13th, and all four of the invited exhibitors have agreed to come and present their work at a special event from 3:30 to 5:30 before the regular 2nd Saturday Reception. In addition, jurors Renner and Spencer will discuss the juried entries and award the “Juror’s Selections”. This exhibit is going to feature other educational information about pinhole photography so we hope you are planning to come and see it at least once, as well as attending the discussion and reception.

Juried
Exhibit
The jurors in this portion of the exhibit were Eric Renner and Nancy
Spencer. Renner and Spencer are two of the world's leading pinhole photographers and proponents of the technique. Together they publish Pinhole Journal and operate Pinhole Resource, an educational and information organization for pinhole photographers based in San Lorenzo, New Mexico. Renner is the author of the definitive book on the subject, "Pinhole Photography - Rediscovering a Historic Technique". Both have received numerous awards and grants including ones from the National Endowment for the Arts and the J. Paul Getty Trust. There will be Juror's Selections in each of the two categories.

The juried segment presents the creative and artistic talents of pinhole
photographers from around the world.
In addition to the invited exhibitors,
54 images of the 136 submitted were selected for the exhibit. The images were sent in by artists from all over the U.S. as well as England, Scotland, Canada, New Zealand and France. There
was also a category for
hand-constructed cameras.
